Nationally respected as a broker, developer and valuation expert, Bob Merrick is widely considered to be the area’s foremost real estate expert. Bob purchased Latter and Blum in 1986 and since that time has directed the company’s growth into one of the largest real estate firms in the nation. He currently serves as Chairman and CEO of the Latter & Blum Companies.
From his entry into the real estate business in 1965 with Max Derbes, LLC, Bob has handled countless brokerage and appraisal assignments for a virtual Who’s Who of national corporate clients.
Bob’s work earned him numerous awards. In 1994, he was honored by Mobil World Wide Real Estate as its Strategic Partner of the year. He has been inducted into the New Orleans Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame, and he has chaired numerous fundraising events for local charities including having chaired the United Way Annual Living Campaign which raised over $18 million dollars for local charities.
Bob graduated Tulane University with a B.A. in 1967; he was the former Chairman of the United Way, the Real Estate Appraisal Sub-Committee of the Louisiana Real Estate Commission, and the Metropolitan Crime Commission. He has also been on the Board of Directors for First NBC Bank, Ruth’s Chris Steak House, and the University of New Orleans.
